After breakfast proceed for a day trip to Kufri which is approx (17kms/ 50 min) from Shimla. Kufri is a small hill station in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh state in India. It is located 20 km from the state capital Shimla on the National Highway No.22. The name Kufri is derived from the word Kufri meaning lake in the local language. Return to Shimla. On reaching visit Mall Road – is the main street in Shimla, the capital city of Himachal Pradesh, India. Constructed during British colonial rule, the Mall road is located a level below the ridge. The offices of Municipal Corporation, fire service, and police headquarters are located here. Automobiles, except emergency vehicles are not allowed on this road. For this reason, the locals and tourists are often found strolling on this road in the evenings. Mall road has a number of showrooms, department stores, shops, restaurants and cafes. A Himachal emporium that offers handicraft products of Himachal Pradesh like locally designed woolen cloths, branded cloths, pottery items, and jewellery is also located here. There are at least three books shops including one that sells old books. Visit Christ Church Road – is the second oldest church in North India, after St Johns Church in Meerut. It is a parish in the Diocese of Amritsar in the Church of North India. Its current incumbent is The Rev. Mushtaq Achher Malk whose ecclesiastical designation is presbyter-in-charge. Worship is conducted in Hindi and English. Jakhoo Mandir – it is situ ated on Jakhoo Hill, 2.5 km /1.3 miles east from the Ridge, Shimla at a height of 2,455 m (8,000 feet) above sea level. Shimlas highest peak offers a panoramic view of the Shivalik Ranges and the town of Sanjauli. An ancient Lord Hanuman temple is there and every year a big festival is held on Dussehra. You can go to the temple by foot (a steep climb) from Ridge (path behind the church) or can hire a pony/horse In the evening return to Shimla hotel. Overnight stay in Shimla.
After breakfast, proceed to Manali - Manali is a high-altitude Himalayan resort town in Indias northern Himachal Pradesh state. It has a reputation as a backpacking center and honeymoon destination. Set on the Beas River, its a gateway for skiing in the Solang Valley and trekking in Parvati Valley. En-route pass through some picturesque spots such as Sundernagar Lake, Mandi, Pandoh Dam, Hanogi Devi Temple, Mini Vaishno Devi Temple and Kullu Shawl Factories. After breakfast, proceed for Snow Point or Solang Nala (Valley) derives its name from combination of words Solang (Nearby village) and Nullah (water stream). After breakfast, check out and proceed for the sightseeing of Manali covering - Hadimba temple, a heritage temple dating back to 1553. Further visit the Tibetan Monastery - Himalaya Nyingmapa Buddhist Temple, one of the oldest and famous places in Manali. Due to huge number of Tibetan peoples settled in the area this has been set up. The main attraction of the monastery is the handicrafts of Tibetan artistry and the carpets that are woven and sold in the monastery. The Gadhan Thekchoking Gompa in Manali was constructed in the year 1969. The architecture of the monastery represents the Tibetan style of architecture designed with hued frescoes. The statue of the Lord Buddha presides in the monastery. Club House - A fun loving place with a roller skating rink, an auditorium, billiards rooms, a library, a bar and restaurant . After breakfast, proceed for local sightseeing of Dharamshala covering : Naddi Village a high point beyond the Dal Lake- Naddi Village affords a magnificent view of Dhauladhar snow mountain range to the north and the vast expanded of lush Kangra Valley to the south. Dal Lake: most attracted tourist spot in Dharamsala, is renowned for its scenic beauty and the cool ambience. The Dal Lake is surrounded by deep green Deodar forests. It is a best base camp for trekkers in Dharamsala and Mcleod Ganj. St. John Church: leaves traces of British rule in the country. It came into existence in the year 1852. The church is situated amidst the Mcleodganj and the Forsythganj, and is enclosed with the dense Deodhar forest. It has a very peaceful and calm look to it. St. Johns Church has decorated glass windows. These glass windows add to the beauty of the church. These glass windows are Belgian in origin and have been specially gifted by none other than Lady Elgin. Bhagsu Nath Temple and Waterfall: Bhagsunath is an attractive tourist spot, well known waterfall and a small shrine that lies at the end of an easy walk from Macleodganj bazaar. It has fresh-water springs, slate quarries, a small yet beautiful waterfall and an ancient temple. Mcleodganj Tibetan Market: McLeod was established in the mid-1850s as a British garrison and it briefly served as an administration centre for the colonial government until the devastating earthquake of 1905. It remained a backwater until 1960, when the Dalai Lama and his entourage claimed asylum here following the Chinese invasion of Tibet. His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lamas Monastery & Residence (Namgyal Monastery): Tsuglag Khang, The Dalai Lamas temple complex, is the life-blood of the village. Located a short walk away from the bus station at the center of town, the complex houses the Namgyal Monastery (which trains monks for rituals associated with the temple), the main temple and a smaller shrine that houses a huge gilded statue of the Buddha, along with two smaller, but no less impressive statues of Chenresig and Guru Rinpoche. On reaching visit Jalianwala Bagh, also known as the Amritsar massacre, took place on 13 April 1919 when Acting Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer ordered troops of the British Indian Army to fire their rifles. By 2:30 proceed to visit Wagah (is a village situated near a road border crossing, goods transit terminal and a railway station between Pakistan and India and lies on the Grand Trunk Road between the cities of Amritsar, Punjab, India, and Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. The border is located 24 kilometers from Lahore and 32 kilometers from Amritsar. It is also 3 kilometers from the bordering village of Attari. It is particularly known for the elaborate Wagah border ceremony that happens at the border gate, two hours before sunset each day.
